In his preface to the book he has drawn the attention of the reader to Tagore not as a poet of Bengal only but of the whole of India if not of the world. While evaluating with a critical eye the greatness of the literary works, Mr. K. Chandrasekharan has aptly pointed out quoting the poet’s own words “God loves me when I sing; he rewards me when I work.”
